About Me

I was born in Wellington, NZ and was raised like most Kiwis with salt water in my veins. This "Windy City" is near Cook Strait where it is not uncommon the get 10 meter swells.
I started teaching and raising a family in Auckland, the "City of Sails" where sailing is year round and everybody has a boat.
We moved to Atlanta, in 1990 where we sailed snipes in Lake Allatoona with the Atlanta Yacht Club.
After more than 20 years as a public servant, it was time to hang up my soldering iron and go sailing.

  1. Hi Peter - Sorry I didn't get a chance to say a proper farewell. Then again, perhaps shouting from the dock is the way to go. Did you head up to Maine?

  3. Hi Peter. It was great meeting you today on Mackinac Island. We look forward to following your travels. I was looking at your pictures and ironically, you had a great shot of the little U.S. Post Office I work at.

  5. Peter - So glad to have met you on Drummond Island! You are an inspiration. Also - I am in love with your boat - uber cool. Sorry the winds weren't favorable yesterday for your westward voyage but at least you had some friendly flies to keep you company! Take care - good winds - hope to see you on Drummond again one day! - Chris Taylor - Deckhand to Huron Jewel - Drummond Island, Michigan
