An outside day

I must finally be getting used to the heat here because I spent most of the day outside (while applying and reapplying copious amounts of sunscreen a few times and wearing long sleeves and a wide brimmed hat.) First off I slept like a baby last night. Isn't AC just wonderful? And no mosquitoes to boot.
I started off the day by fixing a mistake I made while installing the lifelines.
The pelican hooks should be on the left of the stanchion so people can get on board easier ( like so......
Today is Wednesday so it must be washing day.
I painted the chocolate colored strip on the boats's topside and then applied filler to the many gouges on the boats's hull.
And of course as soon as Mother Nature saw me doing the washing, she called Murphy and had me scurrying to take the dry clothes in.
While I was inside, I ordered a new VHS radio and while I was at it mounted a plug on the VHS cable.
I wanted to try putting my dinghy just aft of the mast to see if it would fit.
It did with only inches to spare I might add. The rub rail on it has seen better days so I needed to remove it.
I looked around for a replacement but could not find one so I decided to try some old fire hose given to me courtesy of the Atlanta Fire Department.....but guess what?
Guess who was finally found....my old friend!!!!!! But there was another surprise waiting for me......
One of those bloody recluse spiders that I thought I had seen the end of. Now this is no laughing matter. One of these little babies could put a serious dent in my cruising plans. And last night I was walking on the pier and there was a huge alligator staring up at me. No lie. Just nonchalantly sizing me up for dinner......and I have it on film! I have decided that every Friday, instead of doing a blog I will try and produce a short video clip. Now this is a work in progress so bear with me. Warts and all. Watch this space!
Anyway after being scared out of my skin from those two poisonous hoppy things I started installing the new fire-hose on the dinghy.
Will continue it tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to go up to the shops so it was pressure cooked  rice and beans with a curry onion tomato concoction and grapefruit and plum for dessert.
